carlo gatteschi

Tristan Honsinger is an american jazz player. He came to Europe to live and play, and to look for a different, more european, more improvised and more classic way of playing music. He has been very interested in meeting and collaborating with european musicians, he has lived in Florence for five years, until '82 and in that period he has played with Vernuccio and has met Gatteschi.
Tristan Honsinger is one of the most original cellist in the world, he plays with the European quartet of Cecyl Taylor, he has played with Steve Lacy, Toshinori Kondo, J.Jaques Avenel, Sean Bergin, Han Bennink, Misha Mengelberg. He plays improvised music and he writes music for dance and theatre performances. He makes total improvisations with words, music and body.
The collaboration between Gatteschi and Tristan Honsinger began in '97, with some concerts in duo and in trio with the doublebass player Nicola Vernuccio, some recordings for an acoustic CD not yet printed, and with the collaboration with Gezz Zero Grup in three tracks recorded and printed in the last G.Z.G. CD "Musica Gezz"

…a duo with one of the best international cellists, Tristan Honsinger and Carlo Gatteschi, sax player and experimenter. The base of this collaboration is improvisating music, but the final risult is something more than jazz, with it's total sounds, evocative lyrics and bursting effects…
